Local SEO is not the same as regular SEO
Regular SEO is about ranking a website in the list of blue links. Local SEO is about the map: the three businesses Google shows when someone searches for a service near them. For a shop, clinic, F&B outlet or service business in Singapore, the map is where most of the calls, direction requests and walk-ins come from, and it follows different rules. Distance to the searcher matters, your Google Business Profile matters a lot, and reviews carry real weight.
How we measure your ranking
Checking your ranking by searching on your own phone tells you almost nothing, because results depend on exactly where the search happens. We use a grid: the same search checked from points spread around your business. The result is a map showing where you appear in the top 3, where you drop off, and how far your visibility reaches. It makes progress visible, and it shows which direction your competitors are taking customers from.
What the work includes
- Profile optimisation and upkeepCategories, services, photos, posts, Q&A and holiday hours, kept current every month.
- A review systemQR cards, message templates and reply habits that keep fresh reviews arriving, within Google’s rules.
- Consistent business details everywhereYour name, address and phone checked and corrected across local directories, maps apps and industry listings, because inconsistency quietly undermines rankings.
- Service and area pagesPages on your website that genuinely answer what people in your area search for, linked to your profile. Real local detail, never the same page with the estate name swapped.
- Technical checksStructured data, page speed and indexing, so Google can read and trust your site.
- A one-page monthly reportYour grid ranking, review count and the enquiries you received, in plain English.
What local SEO can and can’t do
Honest expectations save money. Local SEO can make you the obvious choice in your neighbourhood and widen the area where you appear. It can’t make a business rank on the map across the whole island from one address, because distance is part of how Google ranks local results. If you serve all of Singapore, the strategy shifts toward strong service pages and content that rank in the regular results, which we’ll tell you in your health check.
Results also take time. Profile fixes often show movement within weeks; competitive categories in dense areas such as the CBD, Orchard or Tampines Central take months of steady work.
