How patients find clinics
Searches like “dentist near me”, “GP clinic open now”, “physio Bishan” or “TCM clinic Tampines” are local and often urgent. Patients compare the two or three clinics nearest to them on the map, check whether they’re open, look for the services and schemes they need, and book or call. Your Google Business Profile and a clear, fast website decide whether you are one of the clinics they compare.
Know the advertising rules first
Licensed healthcare services in Singapore are governed by the Healthcare Services (Advertisement) Regulations 2021. Among other things, they require advertising to be factual and capable of being substantiated, and restrict laudatory statements (such as calling yourself “the best”), before-and-after images and testimonials. MOH has also tightened rules on aesthetic treatment advertising. Marketing tactics that work for a café can create real compliance risk for a clinic, so everything we write for clinics stays factual, and you should confirm anything uncertain with your own compliance adviser or professional body.
What helps clinics rank and convert
- Precise categories“Dentist”, “Medical clinic”, “Physiotherapist” or the closest TCM category as primary, with secondary categories only where they genuinely apply.
- The schemes patients search forIf you are a CHAS clinic, or enrolled in Healthier SG, say so clearly on your profile and website. Patients search for these by name, and stating them is factual information, not hype.
- Accurate hours, including public holidays“Open now” and “open on Sunday” searches are common. Wrong hours lose patients and generate complaints.
- Online booking or queue linksIf you use an appointment or queue system, link it from both the profile and the site. Every extra step loses patients to the next clinic on the map.
- Service pages that informOne clear page per service (scaling and polishing, wisdom tooth removal, sports injury physio), explaining what happens, who it suits and how to book, factually and without superlatives.
- Doctors and teamNames, qualifications and photos, which build trust and are factual.
Reviews, carefully
Patients still read Google reviews before choosing a clinic. Ask for reviews in a neutral way, and reply professionally without confirming that the reviewer is a patient or discussing any treatment, because patient confidentiality and Singapore’s PDPA still apply in public replies. Given the advertising regulations, don’t copy reviews into ads or promotional material.
